Sharon Elvira Flowers is a native of E. St. Louis, Illinois. She is the daughter of Johnnie L. McCray Sr. and Gladys L. McCray. She is the second of four children. Dr. Flowers joined the US Army in 1988 and retired in 2008 after 20 years of faithful service to her Country. Dr. Flowers relocated to Orange Park, Florida in 2015, and loves the Sunshine State!
In 2001, Dr. Flowers graduated with an undergraduate degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. In 2007 she graduated with her Master’s in Education and a Doctorate in Psychology (2014). Dr. Flowers is a Part-time Faculty Member at Fayetteville Technical Community College, Carolina College of Biblical Studies and American Public University.
Dr. Flowers released her first journal book in July 2018 (Purposeful Pathways). She currently working on a new book “Taken, But not Forsaken, which focuses on the psychological struggles of trauma, and healing using Biblical principles. She is the Director of Christian Education at Love Alive Church in Middleburg, Florida.
Dr. Flowers is married to retired (SGM) Nathaniel A. Flowers, and together we have eight wonderful children Nathaniel Jr. , Felicia, Ni’Keysha, Fernandez, Steven, Dontel, Gabriela and Kyndle. We also have four grandchildren.
