CeeJay Taylor

Cynthia J. Taylor grew up in rural North Carolina with five siblings and was blessed to have multiple generations always living close by.  After attending public schools, she graduated in 1982 from North Carolina Central University as an English major.  Shortly after her mother’s death in 1982, Cynthia moved to Maryland, being newly married.  Being familiar with various office environments since her small town days back in North Carolina and her first job in the county tax office, Cynthia began working in temporary administrative positions throughout Washington, DC.

She began her career with the American Dental Association two years later, coming on staff first as a temporary employee, ultimately being hired for a full-time position.  Cynthia is still on staff at the ADA, overseeing their political financial compliance and also managing their Capitol Hill venue used for fundraising events.

However, practically growing up always having some type of book in her hand, Cynthia was an avid reader.  But she also hid the dream of someday becoming a writer herself.

Now writing under the pen name, CeeJay Taylor, she recently published her first book Heavenly Gifts, It Might Be Pancakes.  Her debut is a collection of short stories of inspiration for young people.  Cynthia has even involved her son, who did the original illustrations for the book.

Cynthia lives with her husband and two children in suburban Maryland, where she is also a talented gospel singer serving with her family weekly at their church.  A faith-filled woman, Cynthia enjoys telling others about the love of God – whether it’s through song or words.  She never misses an opportunity to spread laughter, love, and joy with everyone she meets.
